Improving 2D Foundations

Spend 5 Saturdays painting and exploring with artist and life coach Diane Olsen, learning foundational elements of good composition by painting abstractly for creative and personal growth.

Diane will teach a different compositional element in each workshop using acrylic paints with the palette knife and brush. Students will practice applying each element to compositions; learn and practice palette knife painting techniques; practice painting abstractly; discover how elements of personal life foundations and experiences are conveyed in their art; gain new insight into their artistic instincts and styles; discover unique expressive directions; and receive individual attention and critique.

Feb.9 space; Feb. 23 line; Mar. 16 color part 1; April 6 color part 2; April 27 intent/taste. Structure which was taught in a previous workshop will be reviewed.

Limited to 8 students.

Students may sign up for all 5 Saturday workshops for $350 or $75 per class if signing up for less than 5. Materials list supplied when signing up. Sign up directly with Diane, not Arizona Art Supply. Payment in advance required. Credit cards, checks, and cash accepted.
