Exhibition runs Nov. 6 - Dec 2, 2012
During the month of November, Jill Price will feature some of her most recent "Fabricated Landscapes". Currently living two streets away from farmland, Jill finds herself on the edge of suburban sprawl, something she has coined “RURBIA”. In these works she visually investigates how our culture mimics nature through its industrious design and development. Juxtaposing structures and patterns of urban development against the organic boundaries and landforms of the countryside, Price draws attention to the farmland needed to sustain us. The patchwork into the canvases is intended to communicate a hope for mending our landscapes.
