This contest celebrates Problem Gambling Awareness Month - March 2015. The official theme for the month is 'Problem Gambling: Have the Conversation'. Contest entries should address the theme of addiction and recovery.

This is 'NOT' a contest that shows pretty pictures of casinos or glorifies gambling; neither is it anti-gambling! It is about hope and help for people affected by gambling addiction.

The National Council on Problem Gambling and The Council on Compulsive Gambling of NJ have agreed to help promote the contest and to encourage members of the public to vote for their favorite art pieces. There may be opportunity for selected pieces to be displayed at the National Conference on Problem Gambling if the themes are of interest to the conference organizers.

Gambling disorder is the newest recognized addiction, affecting over 6 million in the USA and many more world wide. For every problem gambler, it is estimated that 8-10 others are affected, including family, friends, and associates. Problem gambling affects individuals, families, workplaces and the community; many have lost their homes, families, jobs and, in desperate cases, they have taken their lives. This is a public health issue with many impacts, but there is help, and there is hope for recovery!

I will be consulting with professionals in the Gambling Addiction field and may have to delete images that do not meet the above description.
