Photographs That Tell A Story

I am both a Writer and a Photographer. I am going to be running a Writing Event within my network of writers. The top three winners of this contest will have their images displayed in my blog.

In addition to the top three winning photographs, There will also be two Judges Choice awards, meaning I will go through all the images that did not make it to the top three, and pick two that I feel tell a strong story and they will be selected for display in the Event as well.

When I write, I try to create an image in the reader's mind. When I take a photograph, I try to create a story in the viewer's mind. Inspiration is an amazing thing, to see where a seed planted takes someone is a gift indeed. As artists, we do not always have a chance for that kind of feedback. This is a chance for you to see the thoughts your images create in others! Writers will choose a photograph that inspires them, and write what they see in the image.

Rules:

1) This contest is for photographs only.

2.) Images can have some Photoshop work but not enough to distort the look of the natural image. This means, color enhancements, blacks and white, sepia, all of that is fine, but I want the raw image to tell the story, not the processing.

3.) Anything I feel does not meet these guidelines, will be removed. BUT, I will email you and ask you to submit something else. I think that is the courteous thing to do.

4.) Because of the nature of the event, and because if you win, you are agreeing to have your image will be displayed for the writing contest on my blog, there can be no nudes.

5.) If you enter this contest you are agreeing that your image can be used in the writing event. All photographers information and the link to their Fine Arts America page, and/or personal website will be displayed with their work so people can come visit your other images. The link to the writing event will be provided once it begins!

Each participant may submit 1 image.

1)   You must be a member of FineArtAmerica.com in order to cast votes in this contest.   Your account must have been active at least 30 days prior to the start of the contest in order to vote.

2)   You may only vote once per image.

3)   You may vote for one image... and one image only.
