NeoArchaic Portraits Overview

Contest Rules

Strictly handmade portraits of existing human beings. No fictional characters; absolutely no fairies, gnomes, golems, and especially no vampires - sparkly or otherwise. (Bigfoot's OK - provided the artist can authenticate his existence, and solicit his willing participation in the portrait. Sasquatch portraitists will also need to obtain a DNA sample, given the murky genetic origins of the elusive mammal.)

1 image per member.

Any media EXCEPT photographs or photomosaics. (Digital media is perfectly acceptable, provided it isn't an altered photograph. Collage from bits of unrelated photographs will probably be accepted, but jurors will have the final say.

Absolutely NO celebrities (dead or alive) unless you can prove definitively that they actually sat for the portrait.

Focus is on portraits that are imaginative, unconventional, and interpret a person's character in an inventive manner. Duplicating a photograph in another medium is still just duplication, not interpretation. Tell us something about your subject, not just what they look like (Even if it IS Bigfoot).
