It’s time again for my weekly Introducing artists contest.

This week however there will be a few changes.

Firstly you may have noticed I’ve started the contest earlier than normal. You will have one day to enter the contest and 3 days to procure votes

Secondly I am now limiting the voting to members of FAA only - this will be artists judging artists

Third while everyone can still only enter one piece you will all now have 3 votes you can use

Please be honest and do not vote for yourself

I want to see you VERY BEST work. Show me the piece you dream about seeing in museums and galleries.

All Artists entering must be willing to be interviewed and featured on my blog for the week of 2/8/2015 - 2/14/2015

Now the not so fun rules

What will automatically be disqualified?

I am looking for art for the sake of art but there are still some rules that must be followed. Many of these are in accordance with various laws, others are because if I cover pieces involving them I could lose my job and others are for just plain common courtesy that I find not to be common at all. Also I want my readers to be able to view my blog when they are at work and I don’t want them to feel that they need to block their teenagers from accessing it.

Regarding safe for work / young people

- All entries must be safe for work and safe for young people to view.
- All Artist entering must be at least 13 years of age or older
- No entries may include recognizable children under the age of 18
- No nudity at all - not front - not back - not partial.
- Nothing with a sexual theme
- Nothing over a PG rating

On common courtesy

- No belligerent or offensive works
- Nothing racist, sexist etc
- Anything that could be seen as an advertisement for or against any organization, race, religion, company, product etc.

On using the property of others

- All entries must be original works by the artist (you did not photograph the Boxer John Sullivan and you most certainly did not paint the Mona Lisa)
- No Plagiarism/Anything that was not originally your work in the first place (ie don’t take a picture out of the public domain and try to claim it - even if you alter it slightly I won’t accept it) (yes I just repeated myself but how would you feel if someone stole one of your pieces. And here’s a little thing to think of - many countries are parties to international treaties that protect creative works across borders. In my own country the US you can be sued up to $8,000 if you did not know a piece used was stolen and up to $150,000 if it can be proven that you did know if was copyrighted
- No Trademarks or Logos (not as protected as other creative works but still protected)
- No Celebrities, actors, famous sports figures, politicians etc (even if they have formally given you permission to use their image)

If an artist posts any pictures that include any of the restricted items I will be removing all their pictures from the contest and they will be removed from competition. You have been given your one and only warning.

Each participant may submit 1 image.

1)   You must be a member of FineArtAmerica.com in order to cast votes in this contest.   Your account must have been active at least 30 days prior to the start of the contest in order to vote.

2)   You may only vote once per image.

3)   You may vote for a total of 3 different images... but again, only once for any given image.
