Illinois Urban Landscapes

From Chicago and its dense suburban ring to Peoria, Waukegan, Elgin, Rockford, Aurora, Kankakee, and Springfield, Illinois is rich with urban density. Skyscrapers and factories, stores and warehouses, parks and playgrounds any and all are fair game for this contest. As long as your images were shot in one of our cities (please tell us which one even if it seems obvious to you.) Color or black and white, processed, textured and high dynamic range all are welcome. Just no paintings...no oils, watercolors, pastels, pencil or pen and ink drawings please. Also, no rural scenes, small town streets or markets. Keep it 100% urban and all will be well.

Some basic guidelines:
1. PHOTOGRAPHY ONLY. Color, black and white, processed or textured all is good just nothing but photography please. If the image loses its connection to the underlying photograph it will be removed.

2. Family friendly, no nudes at all.

3. People, while not forbidden, must not be the object of the image. Incidental inclusion of people or other mechanical devices like cars or busses is fine so long as these items are not the object of the image.

4. Up to two (2) entries per artist. But you may only vote for three (3)

5. YOU MUST IDENTIFY THE CITY WHERE YOU SHOT THE IMAGE (even if it seems obvious to you it may not be obvious to an observer.)

WHAT ABOUT TIES…

Fine Art America will, in some kind of strange algorithm, award first, second and third places at the end of voting even when there are images receiving the same number of votes. Because it is common for ties to occur among the top vote getting images, when ties occur, each of the images will be featured. Unless there is a clear cut place finisher, places will not be displayed on the embedded images on the group home page. For example, if four images receive the same number of votes and are tied for 1st place all four images will be recognized and displayed as co-winners.

Each participant may submit 2 images.

1)   You must be a member of FineArtAmerica.com in order to cast votes in this contest.   Your account must have been active at least 30 days prior to the start of the contest in order to vote.

2)   You may only vote once per image.

3)   You may vote for a total of 3 different images... but again, only once for any given image.
