Contest Rules

Artist of the week XVII - The Semi-Annual Contest The seventeenth 'Artist of the week' contest is a FREE THEME contest and it's also the first JURIED contest. As the half of 2014 is ended, you can participate with your best work in these six months.

So, here are the rules:

• Any medium is accepted.

• You can post one image of your work.

• Please keep it family friendly ! No adult content (absolutely no images of nudity, death, cruelty, blood scenes and violence of any kind).

The rules and the criteria of the judgement must follow the basic guidelines that most contests use:
1. Technical issues. How correctly the medium is used?
2. Subject/content. Is the theme presented correctly and creatively?
3. Composition. Does it make a visual impact, or tells a significant story?
3. Personal taste.

Many of you that had participated in the previous contests had remarked and complained about the usual voting problems. I made this juried contest in order to try a different way for more fair results. I hope to support it with your talent and work and this contest, as you had supported the previous!

Although I've already sent an invitation to all the members of the 'Artist of the week' group to let me know if they want to become jurors, I think that many of you didn't read it. So, if you are interested and you want to participate in the jury, please send me an email in order to give you a formal invitation.

You must also consider that JURORS CAN'T SUBMIT THEIR WORK IN THIS CONTEST!

For those who are not already members of the Artist of the week group, I would be very happy if you participated in the group, too !!!
