My kitchen is decorated with a hen and rooster collection. Not a super big collection but worth noting when one walks in our house. Before the chickens, I used to collect angels. Before angels, hearts. I guess one could say I'm a "collector".
One day, in trying to decide what theme to make my next greeting card, I decided on the rooster. To make it different, I colored it with sharpies using zentangle and doodle patterns. Not all zentangle art is in color, as originally I believe the creators of Zentangle, Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts, defined it as creating non-specific patterns on small, 3 1/2 inch squares using black ink. Now zentangle-inspired art has evolved into patterns of color and in specific designs such as flowers, animals, etc. Regardless, it is a calming, relaxing form of art which anyone can learn. I like to combine zentangle with doodle art which is also an abstract and fun form of art. There are really endless possibilities.
Anyway, this is my red rooster.
