Working with Skies

As my work continues through Taylor's book, I was caught up with his section on selecting "landscape" or "portrait" for the paper orientation. More specifically, the samples' sky and clouds were most intriguing. Having said that I posted the first painting of stormy clouds about 2-3 days ago (see link). And now I have completed the second painting (using a landscape orientation). In this second painting, you will also notice the drastic differences in the texture of the sky/clouds. This one is much softer and blended whereas the first painting has more sharp edges throughout the sky.
I am going to do two others - this time using a blue cloudy sky rather than the storm.
