So, I have been working on this little kitten for quite some time now and I really want to get her finished. The problem is that I don't have a studio any more, I am reduced to working on my kitchen table which, although is in good lighting, is just not right! The table is too high to comfortably sit at my drawing board, so I tend to stand. There is no helpful slide-up shelf on the board like there is on my free-standing drawing table so I end up holding a gazillion pastels in one hand while drawing with the other. Everything is just that little bit too far out of reach to make things easy. I am (sadly) a creature of habit and I do not like change of any kind so it is taking me an extraordinary amount of time to get past the fact that I have down-sized to a smaller house and have lost my designated creative space in the process.
That being said, I do still adore working on my portraits and I WILL get past this block eventually. I WILL.
Stay tuned for the finished portrait in the not too distant future.
