Windmill Alone at Sunset

Vincent Willem van Gogh was a well known painter who's work was an expression of rough beauty, he showed emotional honesty in his work and opted for the use of bold colors. I enjoy his work, especially his human subjects. The expression and emotion he is able to show the viewer is truly a work of art. Art for me is not just the colors, lighting and depth. For me it's all about the emotion the artist is able to generate in you, the viewer.

I try to express emotion through the images in my camera view finder. With little editing I try to simply capture the scene as viewed through the lens and bring to my followers a new perspective on old subjects.

I chased the sunset on this old gal for weeks trying to find that perfect moment in time, the perfect sky, the perfect perspective of her stature as the sun was setting. She is one of my favorite images, strong and proud, confident and beautiful, like so many of the women in my life.
