Why a Newsletter is a Good Idea

Writing a newsletter can be fun and also act as a journal of your progress with your art. As you develop more readers it can be helpful in creating sales. Your followers and buyers will enjoy your keeping them posted on the life of an artist - You! Each time you sell a painting ask for their email address and tell them about your newsletter. Each time you get an inquiry about your art tell them about your newsletter and get their email address. Don't be bashful about it. Keep your newsletter cheerful and helpful. Don't tell them all your problems. Tell them about the good things that you have done. Your donation of art to a good cause, Your helping a fellow artist. Your having a new young student learning art from you.
Your trip to an enchanting place to paint outdoors. Your encounter with an alien from out space. It can be fictional fun too! Your portrait of your neighbors dog or cat and how funny it was. What they did that made you laugh. Your email friend in Europe or Australia and what he is doing.
