Hello,
In view of the tragic events in France, do you think as artist that there is a limitation on what how to express when it offends others.
Be it race, religion, or even political icon when displayed in a negative light.
I believe there is a disconnect when from one culture to another and that perhaps there should be a discussion about it.
I'm not getting any replies from my comic group, though some views, but hi let's put some ideas on the table.
When events like this happens, like 911 here in USA, there is always many discussions and artist are encouraged to express their views in art as well as with words.
Is there a line to be draw in other people's cultures and viewpoints?
I don't support any killings of any kind and I really feel it was a coward act because these artist didn't have a chance to defend themselves at all-even with the pen
One thing I can say is that terrorist don't need one reason to attack anyone.
Truly we have all lost lots of freedom of living in a free society with cameras everywhere, phones monitored, and even the monitoring of what we see on TV and what devices we use in our homes that can now be picked up through your electrical lines. The only freedom you have is when you close your eyes in sleep-I don't think your dreams can be monitored-but a cell phone close by monitors just where you are!
Looking forward to hearing your views. I'm sure I didn't say it all!
Somehow, we must look for a more peaceful world where everyone is respected when they try to live a good life and likewise respect the life of others.
