Watch my photography change 3

First things first, a little history about Oatman AZ: Oatman, is located in the Mohave County in Arizona. They say Oatman Hotel is haunted by past character from the mining years and Clark Gabel and Carole Lombard. Oatman was a tent city in the early 1900s. At that time the hotel was called the Drulin Hotel,it was built in 1902. Oatman hotel has eight rooms it is not longer a hotel. Two miners eventually struck a rich vein worth 10 million dollar gold in 1915. Prior to that time the town had been little more than a mining camp. With the strike of gold Oatman had grown from 200 people to more than 3,500 residents.
By 1920 Oatman had over 3 fires, that had destroyed most of the town. In 1924 United Eastern Mines, shut down its operation and the town almost dyed. Until Route 66 was built, the old town and the hotel started catering to the travelers along the new highway. It started dying again until they started building Bullhead.
There are rumors that Clark Gable and Carole Lombard spent they're wedding night at the hotel. They were married on March 29, 1939 Kingman, Arizona
With the development of Bullhead and Laughlin it has become a tourist draw. Known for it wild burro walking the streets, shops restaurants, and old building. Ok I hope you enjoying a little info about Oatman Great place can't wait to go back.

I finally finished going though my Oatman pictures. What a great place to take old west pictures. I think my favorite is a set of 3 called "I'm gonna get you"
"hands up" and " The Negation" It is a gunfight setting with the sheriff catching the gold robber and then them negotiating on who get the gold. I know who got the gold. I think this is a great story. I did the three pictures in 3 different effects, black and white, sepia and normal. A lot of my pictures are in Sepia, and black and white to give it that old west feeling.

Over the last 3 years I have changed the way I have taken pictures. I'm noticing so many thing in my pictures that I have never noticed before.I took this great pictures of an old Well's Fargo Stage coach. What did I see, though the windows, I could see the chain link fence. Nobody wants a picture hang in on their wall with chain link fence in it. It takes away the look of the old west. Can't say it's an old west picture if you have chain link fence. I'll take that back they did have chain-link in 1898 before Oatman was built. This chain link was new did not like it.
I also have had this great picture of a wild burro but when I blew it up I noticed this woman in a bright red dress. She was far away I didn't notice tell I posted on my site then off it went. Bye, bye, pictures.

After eliminating 90% of my pictures I think I got 36 great pictures that you won't be bored with. I had this baby wild burro that seemed to love me. He was my model. Without realizing it he was in almost all of my burro shots My favorite is of him, by the Mesquite tree in a close up and also full view. He is also in one by a barn. He would not leave me. While I was taking pictures of him under the tree his momma kept calling to him she went to town. He did not go to her so she had to come back and get him. What a great model wish I could have put some of the great pictures on the site. But the town of Oatman has a sticker yes a sticker on their forehead. The Sticker has a stop sign that says don't feed me. LOL. and yes I did not bribe him to keep him around he choose to stay with me because he loved me.

I have a lot of close up because I had to take a lot of back ground out. Some I did in Oatman and some I had to edit. Next time I will go early in the morning before the tourist arrive and all the cars.

I started noticing another big difference in my picture taking. WhenI started going out at least once or twice a month. I have only kept a few of those the rest I got rid of the rest. In those first set of pictures I noticed a lot of shadows. Half of the item in the shade and half out.

The other thing that has been the biggest help for me in improving my pictures? Looking at the quality of all the other people that are selling pictures on this site. If you ask for help listen they know.

My next outing is going to be of the horse track. I won't have so many close up. I will look at my scenery. To make sure that I don't have any extra stuff in them. That should element a lot of screening once I get home. This will be my first outing since, I had that recommendation of filling my picture more. I will also use a tripod more. I find it hard using a tripod I like my freedom to move.

What I'm I working on next? I love taking pictures of everything and going to new places. Next up is going though my San Francisco, China town, Golden Gate, and Palace of the fine arts pictures.

Tell next time be safe.
