Touch of Autumn

I think most landscape artists enjoy painting the autumn. Who can resist that bright, warm palette of red, yellows and oranges? I'm no different, so many of my landscape paintings are fall scenes. This painting represents and early fall scene, where there's a bit of green still showing through all that orange and yellow. The setting is a meadow in Ogden Valley at the south end of Pineview Reservoir. The shed wasn't there, but rather a modern house, I like the look of a rustic shed better. The day I took the reference photo was gloomy, I injected some sunshine for the photo.
