The way the photo crumbles

I am a relatively new artist, do my own art, and photos, and see lots of people jacking photos. I am talking about users on major social sites. From myself being a user it bothers me that I can't find the original artist because the integrity of the work path has been degraded. Meaning the link to the original work, any descriptions and comments have been left behind. So for even the viewers these people lowering the value of the photo, art, or work, to the people that are seeing it. They don't get the same value as if they went to the photographers site. So why are they even looking at them at social sites? And why they don't look for them where there is more info about the artist, more art or photos by same and in better quality? This all amounts to the psychology of online social sites such as Facebook and Google plus, because I am sure these people wouldn't steal your kids bicycle and give it to their kid, or most of them anyway. They are doing it for the social reward and the lack of ethnics is either apathy or ignorance.
