The value of my artwork has increased 400,000 percent.

I was a child who has always had the goal to become a successful professional artist.

My first store-front was on our front porch in the summer when I was age nine.
For weeks, until my parents told me to clean up the porch...The store opened at 8 am and closed at 5 pm. I worked hard to have plenty of inventory for neighborhood kids.

My inventory was colorful original cartoons of airplanes, superheroes and fantasy figures.

Small drawings were sold for a penny each. Large, legal-size art was sold for a nickel. Total income under a dollar. That was all the neighborhood market would bear in 1957.

Now forward to 2015. Word from my gallery, Friedman's Fine Art in Savannah, Ga, arrived a few days ago. I sold another painting. The price was over 400,000 percent increase in value over my 1957 market.

Doesn't' that make you wish you had bought a couple of dozen of my early drawings
It would be a better percentage of return than Apple stock.

But, I am sure you have experienced similar increasing value in your work too. Maybe...That is something to think about at times you don't feel successful as an artist.

Thanks to everyone who has purchased my art at any time...At any price. You have kept the dream alive for 58 years.
