Solipsism

My version of solipsism is this.
The only thoughts and feelings I'm aware of are my own.
I cannot feel or be conscious of someone else's thoughts and feelings.
I do not deny that other people have thoughts and feelings but as I
cannot be in their minds I cannot be certain what their particular
thoughts or feelings are.
I can observe someone's behavior or actions and determine if that
person is happy,angry or sad.
But in some cases even this may not always be an accurate assessment,
because maybe in some cases some people may pretend to feel happy or
angry when they are not.
Some of us may appear or try to look humble when in reality we are ego-
tistical and narcisstic.
Others may do their best to hide their greedy or malicious motives by
acting the opposite.

As for the external physical world I do not adhere to the belief that it's
all a figment of my imagination or that it has no existence outside of my
consciousness as some solipsists might claim.
When it comes to judging something real or imaginary I can determine this
by consensus or common agreement.
If for example I see a tree in front of me I can easily verify it's existence
independently of my conscious awareness.
I can ask other people if they can see or percieve the same tree that I
can.
If they can then I can safely assume that this is no hallucination.
If I can verify my perceptions of objects in this manner then I can
assure myself that I'm not hallucinating or imagining things.

We also can verify certain obvious facts in same manner.
Facts that we take for granted but which all of us can believe
as being true by consensus or common agreement
By this way I can determine that today is Monday the 29th of
December 2014 as opposed to January 13 1934.
That there is a nation known as China and it is located in Asia
on planet earth as opposed to being located on Saturn or Jupiter.
Also that the current president of the U.S. happens to be Barack
Obama as opposed to Harry Truman or Fidel Castro.
And that 2 + 2 = 4 and not 6 or 8.

However while I do believe that reality or certain facts can be
verified by others perceptions it is not to say that others beliefs
or opinions can be verified the same way.
For example religious and political beliefs are not something that
can be verified in the same manner that I can verify the existence
of the tree in front of me.
Even if I find a hundred or more people sharing the same political
or religious beliefs, that by itself does not prove the existence or
truth of such beliefs.
For I cannot be certain if some people really do believe what they
claim to.
They may be just saying so in order to decieve me for whatever
reasons they have.
As I cannot read their minds in the literal sense or place myself
in their minds I really cannot be absolutely sure of what their
real inner convictions are.

This then is basically my version of solipsism and one which I do
subscribe to.
