Sleep

Longing for movement within the stillness
Any sound to ease this pain

These unpredictable tears
Shaking loose from us

So heavy, my hand becomes
And lifeless the air that suffocates me

Accepting our life now lived
Together, forever remembered

Peace in this moment at last, gratitude
And gentle, caring compassion

Now to comfort and support
Her freedom, and allow surrender

Unconditionally loved, connected
A soul so vulnerable and pure

Walking away, a ripping apart
A piece of happiness left behind

We are left to remember her energy and spirit
Now entrusted into the one from which she came

An eternally good presence
A gift returned

And we will greet her in our surrender
To connect again, and live on
