Ideas for paintings often occur to me when I'm walking or driving. This painting is different. I paint in acrylics which dry quickly and it's common to have some extra wet paint on my palette. Rather than wasting that, I started placing it on a white canvas and this painting gradually emerged as I became choosier about which colors fit with those already on the canvas. As with most of my work, I let it sit where I can look at it periodically before I add anything further .....or decide it is finished. WHAAA - LA. It makes a gorgeous tote. Check it out! Oh and thanks to my sister Karen, for the Colorado influence on the colors in "Rolling Hills". June 28, 2015
