I love running art classes in my local area. I have developed great friendships with my students, and so enjoy watching them progress and gain confidence. Being an artist can be a lonely lifestyle, so I look forward to the enriching interactions that I have each week with my classes. I will often produce works around what I am teaching as examples for the classes, and I find that teaching something really tests your knowledge and pushes me as an artist.

So true. I teach small classes to adults through our local high school adult school. Though it's very time consuming and intense to prepare for each class, the rewards are many. It keeps me learning along with the students and makes me produce art every week for demonstrations, etc. Meeting new people is great and the high it gives me when they are appreciative is worth it all.
