Questions from a fan on FIne Art AMerica answered.

This request was from a student living in Jersey, Channel Islands which is near the UK and goes to
Beaulieu Convent School. I have answered her questions below each number and thought others might like to know too.

Whilst i was researching artists to use for my A2 art project i came across your profile on fine art america
website and your paintings really fitted well into my theme “Sanctuary” so I decided to study you
as as artist and study some of your paintings in my sketchbook.
Thank you for
taking the time to answer my questions.
Liberty Juste Hello, I am currently studied art for my A2 level and I am writing a personal
study with Laurie Hein being my main artist to talk about, Id like to ask a few
questions so I can write in my study more about laurie hein.

1) Who was Laurie Hein’s main influence, When she started painting what artist inspired her
to paint the way she does?

I was most influenced by a retired illustrator named Graham Ingles, who illustrated Tales from the Crypt and was also a portrait artist. He was my teacher from the age of 12 till I was 17 years old. Also, my High School art teacher Mr Ennis who encouraged me to pursue a career in art had a hugh influence on my way of drawing.

2) Why does Laurie Hein paint the paintings she does, what inspires her to paint?

I have always done portraits and enjoy detail. I paint the things and places l love and find inspiring.I also like new challenges and like to create a sequence or collection of certain subjects to study it in more depth..

3) what style of painting does she prefer, expression? or refined etc

I like best if paintings have a mix of soft edges and hard edges, an impressionistic touch and some areas with refinement and detail. I am attracted to a lot of color and strong lighting for my subject.

4) Her Gallery on the website fine art america titled Beach Memories is what I have focused my personal study around, where were these paintings taken and what inspired her to paint these particular ?

Most of these children are friends or family. We live close to the beach so there are lots of beach memories. I like subjects that move my heart with loving thoughts, Happy times and tenderness.

5)what future projects may she have?

I have been doing mostly paintings of the tropical landscape, Florida, birds and oceans. I still want to do more horse paintings to help preserve wild horses in the USA.

Thank you for your time and I would
really appreciate some answers so I can include them in my personal
study.
Thank you, Liberty Juste
