"Pirate, Merchant and Maiden 1848C" . . . The center panel of a vintage Ukiyo-e triptych. The pirate, Hakata Kojuro, is on board ship. Over his clothing the pirate wears a colorful, patterned longcoat. He holds the handle of a large ax (the ax-head is seen in the right panel).
