It was on July 21st, 1946 that Picasso visted an annual potters exhibition in Vallauris, France. His exact intentions are unknown, but we do know he took interest in the Madoura stall and asked to speak to the author of these works. Suzanne and Georges Rami� welcomed him into their workshop, and by the end of the day he had his hands covered in clay.
