Nice Note From A Happy Customer

A couple of weeks ago I received an email from a lady in Pennsylvania, Joan V., who was interested in a couple of my Hilton Head Island images. She had visited both my Zenfolio, and FineArtAmerica ("FAA") websites, and was enquiring about custom sizes for either print. I responded to her that, depending on the specific image, various other sizes and image configurations were usually possible in addition those currently available on my FAA website. I explained that if a different size or specific cropping was needed I would create another master file to those specifications and upload it to my FAA website.

I subsequently created three to scale versions (ratios) of each image and emailed them directly to her...(1) as currently shown on my website 4:3, width 25% greater than height; (2) 5:4 being slightly squarer in shape; and (3) 2:1, or panoramic with width being twice the height, such as 36" x 18". Both images could work as panoramic's, but were better suited in either of the other formats. We then focussed on the exact spot where Joan was planning to hang the print in her home, in order to determine the best dimensions and shape. After a few days of "agonizing" over which picture to choose, Joan responded with her choice, being a 5:4 version (30"x22.5") of "Battered Driftwood", to be printed on metal, one of my most popular images and great choice of media. I uploaded a re-sized master to my FAA site, and Joan placed her order eight days ago.

Yesterday I received this very nice e-mail from Joan...always very satisfying to have one's artwork make someone very happy!

Hi Phill,

Just unpacked the print - simply gorgeous!!! It is even more beautiful than I imagined. The colors are so perfect - the sand and surf complimenting the granite and tile.....the sunset adding the "pop" of contrast....and the metal treatment adds a truly unique
touch to my bath. I'm sure I will enjoy it for a long time.

Phill, thank you so very much for all the time and effort spent in providing me with this amazing art piece. Your kindness and cooperation through the entire process are deeply appreciated.

Sincerely,
Joan

P.S. The package arrived with a deep gash in the cardboard, and I was very apprehensive in opening it...but it was packaged so well that the print was untouched. Great job by FAA.
