May The Road Rise To Meet You

Growing up at my church, we had a Sunday evening worship service. And at the close of each service, our pastor would bring the benediction. And as part of the benediction, the choir would always sing the same song which contained the text of a beautiful Irish blessing. Over the years I have come to love and treasure these words. They are few and simple, but convey much. I offer this blessing to you, whoever you are and wherever you may travel.

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
