If the image you purchase is one that appeals to you in a way that will allow you enjoy it for a long time, then the mission of the artist has been accomplished.
A gallery owner told me many years ago that we should never purchase art as an investment, but as something we love to see and experience over and over again. When you find such art, buy what you can afford and hang onto it. Revisit it as often as you want or need to. That's why it is yours: because it creates good and peaceful feelings within you.
