Making the Most of This Summer

Today I start my summer off from work. I work at an elementary school and yes, I'm one of those people who get time off at the holidays and the summer while everyone else has to work.

I was looking forward to this summer for many reasons (travel time, family time, rest, relaxation). But I really wanted this time to take my "hobby" to another level. Ever since a friend introduced me to Zentangle a few years ago I have been drawing and creating on a daily basis. I was even so bold as to start selling my creations at craft shows, online on Etsy and Ebay and, for 6 months, at a local merchandise shop. I posted my art in the format mostly of greeting/note cards on Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, Pinterest and some others I forgot about. I now wonder how I was so sure anyone would be interested!

But, as we all know, art cannot be confined to any one genre, style or expertise. So I declare: so what if I was so bold? I think we can all agree my art isn't Michelangelo or DaVinci worthy but it is MINE.

So I begin a new website, join Fine Art America, and will continue to improve and enjoy what I do! Looking forward to seeing where it leads me.
