Lighten Up

"Keep your sunny side up." It's easy to let negative influences wreck your productivity. If you get many strong comments, good or bad about your work, THAT'S GREAT! Someone is noticing. Harder for me to take is my paintings being ignored. Juried shows can drive you nuttier than a fruitcake. But don't let them. It's only or a few judges. Really what do they know about art? It's only what they like or what they have been taught to appreciate. Believe me, there are YOUR PEOPLE, the ones that really GET what you are doing. Cultivate your fans.
Work on it every day if you can. You will improve and your style will mature.
Norman Vincent Peale had this to say. "If you are not getting as much from life as you want to, then examine the state of your enthusiasm."
So with much enthusiasm, I say..."KEEP YOUR SUNNY SIDE UP!."
