Life Is Not A Dream

You can find the story behind the musical composition and artwork for my new song, in the book
The Intellectual Handyman On Art

from iUniverse.

Meanwhile, here are the lyrics:

* * *

It's not how things look that makes them real
But how you see them, what you think and feel
Funny how that works but here's the deal...

Life is like a dream

Lying fast asleep upon the bed
You were wide awake inside my head
Looking through my eyes you smiled and said...

Life is like a dream
You row your boat downstream
But it's not what it seems...to be
Life is not a dream

Sometimes we laugh until we cry
'Til streams of consciousness run dry
Out on a limb we straddle
Up a tree without a paddle...high, high and dry

Love is like a river let it flow
We can make the time to take it slow
Steady as a rock, now let it roll

Life is like a dream
You row your boat downstream
But it's not what it seems...to be
Life is not a dream

I love you more than life, no lie
I cross my heart and hope to die
But if I die I won't be dead
I'll be alive inside your head, surprise!...close your eyes

(guitar)

Life is like a dream
A boat that floats downstream
A glossy magazine
A picture on a screen
It's never what it seems...to be
Life is not a dream.

Thanks, Michelle - This picture isn't as lively and animated as, say, your Fun At The Park piece or provocative as Taking A Nap, but a fun exercise nevertheless. Glad you liked the soundtrack.

Attn: Folks, I am bummed to learn that the mp3 player may have been cutting my song way short. This new link plays the full 4:05 minutes of audio bliss for sure.

Anne - Just play the following chord on the piano: A-B-C-E, all naturals, to tide you over 'til the Geeks get there.
