Kathleen Oettinger Is Missing Studio Time.

My husband and I have just returned from traveling and visiting National Parks and Monuments. My artistic spirit is filled and I have lots of new photographs for inspiration but I also have two workshops to present in the next two weeks and they are my priority just now. I am excited about the workshops and enjoy preparing for them but my awareness of the pull of the studio is intense. Another pull is that of uploading art to this site. Navigation is still difficult for me and I am confused about image quality given the small size we are allowed to use. Navigating these side channels of teaching and reaching out has to be seen as enriching my experience of traveling the creative stream of the main channel where movement is more rapid and painting is actually taking place. If I am patient and aware of my priorities everything can work together. I am reminded of the John Ruskin quotation, "On the whole, it is patience which makes the difference between those who succeed or fail in all things. All the greatest people have it in an infinite degree, and among the less, the patient weak ones always conquer the impatient strong."
