Just be Me

I've been disappointed in my photos lately, the seemed flat and un interesting which is why I haven't posted any new ones in a while. Then I discovered J was trying too hard. I was trying to find 'good' shots or marketable photos and forgot why I started doing photography in the first place. I forgot that it is really to capture the things that intrigue me, the things that 'sing' to me if you will. I forgot to just follow my passion. So on the way home last night I stopped on a small country road that dead ends by a small ranch and saw these horses and went crazy on my photos.its probably good I don't use film, but I love horses and the provoke a strong emotional response in me and when I tried to capture that emotion my photos finally made me feel like I had genuine works of art again.

So the moral of today's blog is that as you do your art no matter what medium focus on what excites you and captivates your interest not just what you think would others would like it buy. Do that and your art will come alive and your passion will show.
