I Have Got My Art To Keep Me Warm

If you've ever read this blog before, you are well aware that I do not like winter. I cannot say that I find the cold temperatures, snowfall, or short days to be at all enjoyable. I have been staring longingly at my sundresses and counting the days until spring starts.
One small consolation is the resent resurgence of my creativity. Maybe it is all the time spent indoors, or maybe it is daydreams of warmer temperatures, but I have stock-piled ideas for new art. Just like last winter, I am noticing a couple of themes. The main two would be bright colors and anything beach related.
Tonight I started a painting of a dolphin. It is very much like the dolphin that I did last winter, the main difference being the color scheme. This dolphin painting will be very bright and very colorful. It is more of an abstract take, since the colors I am using are not colors that would occur in nature.
I love to paint scenes of beaches and scenes of marine animals. There is something very uplifting and relaxing about nature, and, for me in particular, about the ocean.
I know that spring will be here before I know it. Before long I will be wearing my sundresses and taking my art outdoors. But in the meantime, at least I have my dolphins, my seascapes, and my rainbow of colors to keep me warm.
