Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve

I have lived most of my life in Homewood, Illinois. A good part of my childhood was spent at the Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve. When I married, we later bought a house where the Preserve is like an extension of my back yard.complete with Deer, Yellow Finch, and the like. It's the place that taught me how to have the feel for nature and landscapes, and now I share these feelings through my art photography.

The Village of Homewood houses one of the most impressive preserve areas in the Chicagoland area tucked in the northeast corner of the Village sits the Izaak Walton Preserve. The Preserve boasts 193-acres of lakes, woodlands, sand dunes, native prairie, picnic grounds, Scout facilities, wetlands, and rustic curving foot bridges that traverse the Preserve's breathtaking landscape and vegetation.

Botanists and schoolteachers with their students regularly study the flora and fauna in the Preserve. Photographers, birders, hikers, and picnickers all use the Preserve.

The Preserve, which is not tax supported, has no paid staff and is not affiliated with the local park district. It is totally dependent upon the support of members, volunteers, and contributors.

I have created an art photography gallery dedicated to the Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve. This artwork carries my mission of images that example hope and goodness.... and share the incredible beauty created by God. You can find the gallery at the link below.
