Holy Spirit Design

As I’m sure most of you have seen, we’ve been up to our eyes in restoration recently, so it was a nice change to get my paints out again and create a design for a local church.
The theme was to celebrate the Holy Spirit, the challenge was to do that over an elongated 3-light window. The section shown here is the middle, which includes the depiction of the dove as the most recognised symbol of the Holy Spirit. Other symbolism that spreads into all 3 sections are the rays of light representing illumination, revelation and guidance, and the tongues of fire representing the pentecostal flames. The windows either side of the middle also include baptismal waters and eucharistic symbols, so quite a lot to fit in. I’ll need the full range of our mouth blown glass to match the colours and hues of my design; good job we just stocked up.
