If all goes as it should, my Website should be loaded and you'll be browsing my artwork. You'll notice it's a bit heavy on dogs and well, that's how this whole thing started. With a love of dogs, all dogs, although Australian Shepherds seem to have grabbed control of the dog gallery. In particular, it started with my annual fundraiser for Aussie rescue held in March. At the prodding of my husband, I brought some artwork, set up a display and offered a pet portrait as a raffle item at the show. I had my reservations but by the time of the raffle, the show goers erased any doubts I had that the idea would sell tickets. In fact, they stuffed the paper bag with tickets and those who didn't win wanted a portrait anyway. How cool is that? As I write, the raffle winner should be perusing her options for a painting of her beloved "Banjo" and I can't wait to begin. He is a 12-year-old rescue Aussie with the personality of Lassie...and just as smart. I plan to continue to offer these portraits to benefit Australian Shepherd Rescue and Placement Helpline, Inc. but I'm also scouting for new potential models in other breeds. So it's off to the dog park to find new subjects. Stay tuned! And make sure to check in with http://heartdogart.artistwebsites.com to see what's new. Thanks for visiting!
