See painting with Mother and sons: In these times

This November, Heading Home Anoka's efforts to increase awareness of homelessness will feature an Art Expo, "Homelessness ....the Journey." Artists will be using 2D and 3D art to represent the journey thru homelessness including videos, film and slideshows.

The art projects will be on display at various locations -
(Anoka County public libraries (9), Anoka County Government Center Atrium, Sanhill Center for the Arts, and other sites) during the month of November 2011 in an effort to heighten awareness of homelessness.
This is a brainstorming effort to have individuals be able to tell their stories through works of art.

My northern suburb artist group, Artist del Norte, is participating in this awareness project by displaying art in the Homelessness Art Expo. My piece is called,"In These Times".

From 2009 to 2011 the number of homeless people in Anoka County has grown by 45% with a startling increase of almost 100% homeless youth.

Many agencies are looking for help with funds or volunteer help.
