Expression - Whether Grief or Joy

Our beloved pets went missing early yesterday, I cannot begin to express the grief we feel for two hounds that often rolled in horse manure, deer pee, ate things not fit for human consumption and then thrown them up... sometimes in the house. They've had every worm imaginable removed from their bodies from time to time, overcome wounds, played and wrestled in the yard, guarded their domain... they truly were the best companions I could ask for. My heart is broke clean to my stomach. I keep expecting to wheel outside and have them flanking my side in their protective nature. What to do with emotions so big you cannot even fully speak them? My grief or joy isn't solitary, we all have moments of wonderful and moments of terrible to endure and express - in this we acknowledge life's journey. As artists we make expressions through poetry, paint, photography, go through old photographs, re-purpose household items... often creating glorious lemonade from lemons... Praying these two bumblers will be found or returned to their proper place. Spring will be here soon, hopefully they will be here to meet me under the Cherry Tree.

Thankfully our mixed hounds were found 10 and half days later in an upper story of a barn not far from here. We are so happy to have them home and overwhelmed and thankful for the prayers, shares and support received by locals and beyond!
