Everything Old is New Again

I have always been the type of person who tires of things too easily. It doesn't take long before I am bored, and I don't always stick with things as much as I should. So it's not a surprise that lately I have found myself wanting to redecorate my living area.
Redecorating doesn't have to be a huge, expensive project. I have found that little touches have made a big difference in my feelings toward my space. For instance, I have bought a few inexpensive pieces to place in the bathroom, or on the mantle. Just putting little pops of color here and there can really freshen things up. I also have hung some of the paintings that are waiting to be sold on my own walls. They look great in my own rooms, and if one sells, it's not a big deal to take it down and replace it. (This is also a great way to store a decent chunk of your ever growing art inventory!)
I have also recently gotten interested in re-purposing things that are already around. Instead of just throwing something away, sometimes you can paint it, or maybe find a different way to use it. More often than not, finding a different way of looking at something old, you will gain a new appreciation for it. A fresh coat of paint can work wonders. Try using an old jug as an umbrella holder, or putting marbles in a glass vase.
I have been finding new uses for old things all over my house. The house looks fresher and perkier. There has been an upside for my art, too, in all of this. My recent adventures in redecorating my home have inspired all kinds of new sketches and painting ideas.
