Earth Shifting

When can you make the claim I am an artist? When you can quit your day job and do it full time? When someone in the art world anoints you with the title of artist? When you sell your first piece?
What if we are all artist but only few of us accept the title for ourselves? We are creative beings. When we are young our imagination is our friend, our coping mechanism, our joy bringer, and so much more. We allow ourselves to play, explore, and ask “outrageous” questions. Sadly as we grow older many lose the fluidness of play and want only to be right.
But shifting your focus back to play, explore, and gentle questioning of all around us is the ultimate art form because art is meant to shake us up and make us move in new ways. This move may be physical, metal, political, or even spiritual but to be touched by art is to be affected by a work.
