Eagle on the Rogue River

Having just returned from an extended vacation where wildlife was abundant (Idaho, Montana, Wyoming) I was never so happy as to find a beautiful bald eagle almost in my backyard. We live within walking distance to the Rogue River here in Grants Pass, Oregon but we rarely are down by the river. Also, I've been on the river jet boat rides several times over the years and I have seen many osprey and eagles. So seeing an eagle is exciting but not unexpected. As luck would have it, we took friends on the jet boats recently and our guide spotted this eagle high in the trees. I wasn't sure my camera would reach and that I would get a clear shot of the large bird. And to make things more challenging, the boat kept turning as we "stopped" to look at him. So I was very pleased that this picture turned out as good as it did. I took several pictures, of course, hoping at least one would be good. I think that this time, this eagle, this boat ride was very special.
