Creator

Creator. That is a heady word. I think many Artists don't know what to do with that designation. The power. The magic. It is intense and vulnerable and surreal and actual. It is full disclosure like nothing else or maybe no disclosure at all, because it is often unexplainable. Even alien. It certainly doesn't conform to the norm. Traditional measures do not apply or satisfy. Creation is getting punch drunk on the stars and then expressing the experience using a language only you know. Then try to interpret that in another language. I dislike having to explain my paintings sometimes, because it is ultimately explaining the Creator. Me. It is like putting a word bubble around a thunderstorm, or giving 50 syllables for something that requires 50 thousand. They simply are what they are. I didn't create them to explain them. "Art is an actualized expression of.... (fill in the blank)." How do you articulate an inkling or a memory wrapped around a color? Creator. Try to explain heaven and earth (in 500 words or less). Creation is a soul force. Pure desire and will and intention. Creator is the other 95% of the brain and 100% of the heart. Articulate that.
