My husband and I have been very sick for days. This blog was supposed to be here on Monday. Better late than never!

A few hours ago I sold a print of Dream Horse to a great New York patron! That cheered me up!



Anyway, here are two more portfolio selections. The first one is another one of my still lifes that I am very pleased with and the other one is another whimsical painting from my Suggestion Series!

"Apples and Flowers" is an intense, intimate still life of golden delicious apples on a floral cloth with the same colors as the fruit and the bowl. The colors are strong and the painting has a cheerful impact on the viewer. The color and textures are continually modulated throughout the work. The painting is in a black composite frame.

Stepping Out is another sensuous, colorful painting from my series,
Suggestions. I am starting with an abstract expressionist surface and then looking for forms that appear in the paint. This time a shoe like shape began to appear so I made it into a festive shoe scene with abstract party streamers.I love the party mood in this one.

Life with The Word and Bird Man - Clyde Kessler

Yesterday I was dragging. Too much to do as always. I decided to be lazy anyway. I didn't clean up until before I fixed dinner and then I just left the dishes and went on to do other things, including watching an old Peter Sellers movie. I never watch a movie in one sitting so I will finish that today.

Clyde is feeling better and when he saw the dirty dishes he started to wash them. I came into the kitchen and told him I was revolting. I was expecting the not anymore than usual reply but I guess he was too tired for a retort.

Anyway sometimes you just have to come to a halt and relax. The work is always there waiting for you. And then the next day I was very ill with fever and I gave that to Clyde so now he has too illnesses to contend with. Yikes!
