So far I have kept my promise to stop ranting about my computer so I am on to another modern gadget that is extremely annoying. I am talking about the remote.

We have a pile of remotes in the living room that I have no idea what they belong to. I guess they are for old TVs or VCRs or whatever. I wish one of us had thought about getting rid of them before they became antiques.

Recently we had to add another gadget to our TV to keep getting cable. When we were done, we had two remotes. One to turn it off and on and one to change channels and volume. We didn't think that was right so we called the company and went through a tricky process to get it down to one. Whoopee!

Many of the buttons for my DVD remote do not work so when I need those buttons I have to borrow my sons remote. Fortunately his DVD player is the same one we have in our bed room.

Last night after Clyde went and got his remote so we could watch our River Monsters episode he commented that maybe one day we will need a remote to get out of bed.

I honestly hope I do not live to see that day.
