I am working my way through the several thousand negatives and transparencies I have in my catalog. I have long been in the habit of carefully noting where the images were created, so I am not left wondering "where did I take that"? Setting these up to be scanned are a time consuming project, The 4x5 transparencies result in superior scans that require some slight passes of noise reduction. Not so much for noise created by the scanner, but to smooth the grain to be imperceptible.
I must admit the 35mm slides are more of a challenge. Creating a scan involves enlarging the grain. It is clear that today's handheld 35 equivalent digital cameras are superior to film. I though that I would never make such an admission.
