Back Inside

I am not quite prepared to get back outside to paint. It is starting to get cold in New England and my winter plein air gear is not quite in place.
I have been working in the studio on some figurative paintings. Experimenting with pastel on handmade paper as well as some loose water color and ink sketches. The image here is watercolor with ink. I like the loose washes and the touch of ink that drips and blends with the paint. This image was done on lightweight strathmore illustration board with a slight tooth. The feel of the paper is luxurious and holds the paint with ease.
Also using a very limited palette with just one warm and two cools.
