August Photography Tips - Night Shots

It’s warm during the day now, but at night the temps cool down and if you stay out until it’s dark you’ll find the the dusk bugs seem to have gone to bed for the most part. At least, that what I find in Southern New England. I’ve been other places where those pests are relentless making this project a real love of the art.


None-the-less, let’s proceed.

Before you start! -- During the day, in the house or in the car, check all settings, Mode, Shutter Speed, Aperture, ISO, Drive mode, White Balance (Shade may give you a warmer tone (yellow)), batteries are charged, you have a flashlight. If you've been to my classes you may also remember that this is a time when to use mirror lock-up and take off Image Stabilization on your lens if it has that.....
