Art Tales

I’m finally getting down to the task of writing my first blog on this site. If you are an old pro at art, you may think I won’t have much to say to you, and you might be right. But my goal is to share my story with artists who stumble on this site, and I hope to do it in a way you the reader will enjoy..

Some of you have made art your livelihood for years, and I respect and admire you for that. Some have made art an important part of life but haven’t made the choice to attempt to make a living from your art. And some of you may have a driving desire to make your art, as I do, whether as a hobby or a vocation.

Art of some kind has always been a part of my life. I began producing poetry and drawings as a child. I became a musician, a songwriter, and a composer by my teen years. I’ve dabbled in oil painting, acrylic painting, photography, creative writing, and woodworking. I’ve enjoyed landscape design, making and selling hypertufa garden art, and creating original art jewelry. Recently, I returned to painting with acrylics. I’ve been trying to discover my stle, which is a little difficult since I’ve always had an interest in so many different areas of all art.

In the past month I've been diagnosed with cataracts and type 2 diabetes. The cataracts make painting a little more of a chore, but I'm getting by. At sixty-one years of age, I really don’t think I’ll be the next Grandma (Grandpa) Moses, but I am going to work hard at creating paintings I enjoy and that I hope others will like, and purchase, as well. Please return here to read and comment on my thoughts about art I’ll keep the light on for you..
