Art Is For Teenagers

Most art is for teen-agers.

Most art is created not to offend anyone.

Most art is for family viewing.

Most art attempts to be pretty or beautiful.

I don't have much interest in these kinds of things.

Art school was a great place to experiment, and to go beyond the limits of what most people normally think about art.

Art can be really shocking to people sometimes.

Some art can not be imagined by the public to hang within their homes.

Some people go to museums, and wonder why some things are art.

One teenager, while with his girlfriend, tagged a Lichtenstein painting in the museum with a permanent marker.

It is almost impossible to completely get the permanent marker off of a painting.

I'll need to get an update on this story. I don't know if the painting was able to be restored.

Anyway, a lot of people on pixels.com post this commercial kind of photography, and it is all very slick. I've seen work like this before. Just because something is highly produced doesn't mean that it is art. Using an expensive camera won't save you, either.

Then there are those who post a lot of Public Domain Art. I guess it is easier to do that, than to make original art. I might do some of this, too, to see if I can make some money with it. I'll start with some art I really dig, though.

Anyhow, I don't think people read blogs on this site, but I write because I like doing it.

A lot of literature and movies are made for a younger audience, because they are the ones who can really soak it up. Adults get too busy to read a book, or to see a movie. Real life gets in the way.

Art occupies a world where it is still a fantasy that things can be made real, even though they never will be.

I keep thinking about this subject.

Female nudes can be shown in art and photography, but once you put in a male penis, all hell breaks loose.

Anyhow, art is a wonderful thing. I'm just tired of being censored. For example, I can't really post naked pictures of women on facebook. It is against their policy. I have a blog that is set to 18 and over. I can pretty much do what I want there, and it makes me happy. I can even swear if I want, and that feels good.

Someday, I would like to have a proper website that is adult only, and then I can really get wild with my art.

That would be fun.

Anyhow, art seems to occupy a similar plane of existence as Oz, Middle Earth, or the magical lands of The Bible. Art seems to be a kind of created fiction, and it is quite idyllic.

I can find many images in art history that are violent and sexual, but America is kind of conservative when it comes to art.
